 About the Service
The York Community CAMHS team provides assessment, care planning, and therapeutic interventions for young people experiencing mental health difficulties. The service is community-based and focused on helping families navigate recovery in a structured and supportive way.
 What You’ll Be Doing
As a Band 5 CAMHS Nurse, your role will involve:
- Acting as a Key Worker for young people and their families, offering continuity of care
Supporting assessments and contributing to risk management plans
Delivering care that is person-centred and recovery-focused
Working closely with a multidisciplinary team (MDT) including psychologists, social workers, and therapists
Providing guidance and emotional support to families during challenging situations
Maintaining accurate clinical records and participating in team discussions
This role requires both clinical competence and emotional resilience, as you will be supporting individuals during vulnerable periods in their lives.

 Requirements
Essential Qualifications
- Current registration with the Nursing & Midwifery Council (NMC)
Completed preceptorship programme (this role is not open to newly qualified nurses without this)
Willingness to develop into a Practice Assessor/Mentor and Clinical Supervisor
Knowledge & Understanding
You should have a solid understanding of:
- Mental health care best practices
Relevant UK legislation
Safeguarding responsibilities in healthcare
Risk assessment and clinical governance
Safe medicines management, including injections
Experience
- Working with individuals experiencing mental health challenges
Delivering care within a person-centred framework
Collaborating with families, carers, and other professionals
Experience of working within a multidisciplinary team
Partnership working with external agencies

This role may be eligible for the Skilled Worker visa route, depending on eligibility criteria.
