About the Role
This role sits at the heart of the University’s admissions operations, supporting the systems that manage applicant data and processes. As Assistant Admissions Systems Manager, you will help ensure that admissions systems run smoothly, efficiently, and continue to evolve to meet the needs of staff and applicants.
Working closely with the Senior Admissions Systems Manager and the wider Admissions team, you’ll contribute to both day-to-day system management and longer-term improvements. You will play a key role in enhancing the applicant journey by identifying system improvements, supporting development work, and ensuring changes are tested and implemented effectively.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Oversee daily operations of admissions systems and processes
Support system improvements by gathering requirements and drafting specifications
Test system updates and enhancements before they go live
Maintain accurate records and audit trails of system changes
Work with colleagues across departments to understand and respond to system needs
Help improve workflows to make admissions processes more efficient and user-friendly
Act as a “super-user,” providing support and guidance to staff with varying levels of technical knowledge

Key skills and experience:
- Experience working within admissions, student systems, or related areas (e.g. CAS compliance, scholarships, enquiries)
Strong organisational skills and the ability to manage competing priorities
Analytical thinking and attention to detail
Confidence in handling routine operational tasks as well as project-based work
Ability to communicate clearly between technical and non-technical stakeholders
Experience using data systems and Microsoft Office tools
