About the Role
The University of Reading is expanding its Middleware Integrations Team and is looking for an experienced Integration Developer to help drive forward its ambitious digital transformation programme.
Working within a growing technical team, you will play a key role in developing and maintaining the University’s Microsoft Azure Integration Services (AIS) platform. This includes designing integrations that connect core institutional systems, enabling seamless data flow across the organisation.
This is a hands-on technical role where you’ll contribute to both ongoing system support and the delivery of new digital initiatives aligned with the University’s 5-year Digital Strategy.
 What You’ll Be Doing
In this role, you will:
Design, build, and manage system integrations and data pipelines across multiple enterprise platforms
Develop and maintain integrations for systems such as:
- Student Records (SITS)
HR and Finance systems (Unit4)
Virtual Learning Environments (Blackboard, Canvas)
CRM systems (Dynamics)
Identity and Access Management platforms
Work with technologies including:
- Azure Integration Services (Logic Apps, Functions, Service Bus, Event Grid)
MS SQL Server & SSIS
.NET (C# preferred) and web services
Lead the migration of legacy integration services to Azure
Troubleshoot and resolve system issues in line with service level agreements
Maintain documentation and ensure systems follow best practices in testing, release, and change management
 About You
You are a technically skilled developer with a strong interest in integration technologies and enterprise systems.
You should have:
- Solid experience with Azure Integration Services
Strong SQL and database development skills (MS SQL Server)
Proficiency in .NET development (preferably C#)
Experience with SSIS packages
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
Experience working within project teams and delivering technical solutions
Additionally, you’ll bring:
- An understanding of software development lifecycle practices
The ability to work independently and collaboratively
Strong communication skills for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders
