About the Opportunity

Medivet Quarrington is looking for a Veterinary Surgeon to join its established clinical team. This is a fantastic opportunity for a vet who enjoys working with a varied small-animal caseload while developing their career within a well-supported and modern practice environment.

The practice has an excellent reputation within the local community and is working towards becoming a dedicated 24-hour veterinary centre for the region. You will be joining an experienced team that is committed to delivering high standards of patient care while maintaining a supportive and collaborative workplace.

The Practice

The purpose-built facility in Quarrington is equipped with modern veterinary technology designed to support high-quality diagnostics and treatment.

Facilities include:

  • Five consultation rooms
  • Dedicated operating theatres
  • Digital X-ray imaging
  • Ultrasound diagnostics
  • In-house laboratory
  • Advanced dentistry equipment
  • Separate dog and cat wards for improved patient welfare

The clinic also plays an active role in training veterinary nurses and graduate vets through the organisation’s professional development programmes.

Working Pattern

  • The role offers a balanced rota designed to support both professional development and personal wellbeing.
  • 40 hours per week
  • Four working days per week
  • 1 in 4 Saturday mornings (8:30am – 2:30pm)
  • Part-time arrangements may also be considered

Key Responsibilities

As a Veterinary Surgeon in this practice, your role will include:

  • Delivering high-quality clinical care through consultations and surgical procedures
  • Creating personalised treatment plans in partnership with pet owners
  • Maintaining accurate medical records and ensuring regulatory compliance
  • Working collaboratively with veterinary nurses and clinical colleagues
  • Supporting junior staff and sharing clinical knowledge within the team
  • Contributing to the continued development of the practice and wider clinical community
  • Professional standards for veterinary practice are overseen by the Royal College of Veterinary Surgeons.

Candidate Profile

The successful candidate will:

  • Be a qualified MRCVS-registered Veterinary Surgeon
  • Demonstrate strong clinical and communication skills
  • Show commitment to high standards of patient care
  • Enjoy working in a collaborative clinical environment
  • Be interested in professional growth and mentoring junior colleagues
