On-Call Veterinary Surgeon – Small Animal(UK Visa Sponsorship)

Job Description

About the Role

Are you a confident and compassionate small animal vet looking for a rewarding out‑of‑hours position with a flexible schedule and meaningful impact? Join a dedicated veterinary team in the scenic Moray region of northeast Scotland and help build a high‑quality emergency service for small animals.

You’ll manage emergency cases during your on‑call weeks — either at a well‑equipped veterinary facility or from home/accommodation provided. This role is best suited to someone who thrives in fast‑paced situations, enjoys clinical autonomy, and is committed to excellent client communication and animal care.

 Work‑Life Balance That Works

We aim to make veterinary work sustainable and enjoyable. The role follows a one‑week‑on, three‑weeks‑off rota, giving you substantial personal time between clinical weeks.

Typical on‑call schedule:

  • Mon–Thu: 6 pm – 8 am
  • Fri 6 pm – Mon 8 am
(No anticipated calls 8 am–12 pm Sat as the practice covers this period)
  • Local candidates may work from home during on‑call weeks; accommodation is available for non‑local vets.
  • Alternative patterns (e.g., one week on/one week off) can be offered with adjusted salary.

 Why This Opportunity Stands Out

As part of this role you’ll enjoy:

  • A fulfilling position where you support both the local community and veterinary teams
  • A rota designed for personal wellbeing and professional satisfaction
  • Competitive relocation support and comfortable weekly accommodation
  • Standard employee benefits including holiday allowance
  • This position also supports offshore candidates through visa sponsorship.
