Lead GP – NHS GP Surgery(UK Visa Sponsorship)

Job Description

One Medical Group is inviting applications for an experienced and motivated Lead GP to join Minehead Medical Centre on a permanent full-time or part-time basis. This is an excellent opportunity for a senior General Practitioner seeking a leadership-focused NHS role within a progressive and supportive primary care environment.

The successful candidate will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient-centred care while supporting clinical leadership, governance, operational performance, and service improvement initiatives. The role combines clinical responsibilities with strategic involvement in practice development and multidisciplinary team leadership.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver safe, effective, and compassionate primary care services
    Provide clinical leadership and support to the wider GP and multidisciplinary team
    Lead quality improvement, audit, and governance activities
    Contribute to NHS operational targets including QOF, IIF, and CQC standards
    Support digital transformation and modern patient care systems
    Promote teamwork, staff development, and continuous professional improvement
    Participate in service redesign and practice innovation projects

Essential Requirements

  • Fully qualified GP with valid GMC registration
    Inclusion on the NHS Performers List
    Minimum 3–5 years’ post-CCT experience or equivalent seniority
    Strong leadership experience within NHS primary care
    Excellent communication, clinical governance, and organisational skills
    Good understanding of NHS frameworks and primary care operations

Desirable Skills

  • Experience in PCN leadership structures
    Interest in medical education, leadership, or healthcare management
    Background in quality improvement and service redesign
