Job Summary
GE Aerospace Wales is seeking a Support Engineer to join our Engineering team. This position is primarily office-based but requires a significant presence on the shop floor, working closely with maintenance technicians. The role involves providing technical support, compiling engineering documentation, and participating in engineering projects aimed at improving efficiency and reducing maintenance costs. The successful candidate will gain hands-on experience with hardware from the GE90 and CFM56 product lines and will collaborate with multiple departments, including Operations, Quality, Planning, Sourcing, and EH&S.
This position includes shift working, covering days, afternoons, and one weekend in three.
Key Responsibilities
Provide daily technical support to shop floor maintenance technicians.
Prepare and maintain technical documentation to support engine and component maintenance.
Develop and implement local policies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and standard operating procedures.
Review and interpret engine manuals, OEM documentation, and customer technical publications.
Participate in engineering projects to improve maintenance processes, turnaround times (TAT), and cost efficiency using Lean principles.
Support the digitisation and continuous improvement of engineering processes.
Required Qualifications
MEng, BEng, MSc, or BSc in Mechanical, Aerospace, or a related Engineering discipline.
Relevant engineering experience (internships or trainee experience acceptable).
Desired Skills and Attributes
Strong ability to prepare accurate and clear engineering documentation.
Proficient in interpreting OEM manuals, service bulletins, and technical publications.
Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.

Working Pattern
