About the Role
Journey Enterprises is currently recruiting Bank Minibus Drivers to support its day services for adults with learning disabilities. This role is ideal for individuals seeking flexible work that fits around other responsibilities such as caregiving, studies, phased retirement, or disability management.
As a Bank Driver, you will:
Drive clients to and from our Day Centres in the morning and afternoon.
Work with a small fleet of minibuses in Bishop Auckland or Newcastle.
Ensure safe, respectful, and timely transport for clients.
You will be offered shifts when cover is needed due to staff absences (both planned and unplanned), and you can choose whether or not to accept the work offered.
Requirements
Valid UK driving licence with no endorsements.
Enhanced DBS check for Adult Services (or willingness to obtain one).
Ability to provide two recent professional or academic references.
Availability for both morning and afternoon shifts.

About Journey Enterprises
Journey Enterprises is a charity providing life and work skills support to adults with learning disabilities. We operate across four Day Centres and also provide services in the community. Journey is not regulated by the Care Quality Commission, and does not provide personal care services. All clients are expected to manage their own continence and medication.
Training and Support
All new staff are assigned a buddy for guidance and support.
Regular supervision sessions and an annual appraisal.

Working Patterns
Standard operating hours:
Monday–Thursday: 08:30–16:30
Friday: 08:30–16:00
Some roles may involve community-based or flexible work.
Occasional unsocial hours (evenings/weekends) may be required with TOIL (Time Off in Lieu) or paid overtime for part-time staff.
Eligibility to Work
You must have the right to work in the UK.
Visa sponsorship is not available for this role.
All staff (including Bank) must hold or work toward an NVQ Level 2 in Health & Social Care (or higher for senior roles), as required under the Health & Social Care Act.
