The successful candidate will have a first degree and a PhD qualification, or a PhD nearing completion, in electrical/electronic engineering, mechatronic engineering, control system engineering, or a closely connected field. You must also be a member of Professional Engineering Institutions (IET, IMechE, etc.). You will have a formal teaching qualification, such as a PGCHE, and/or a fellowship of Advance HE (at FHEA or SFHEA level), or be willing to get one once in position. You will have relevant academic expertise planning, delivering, evaluating, and managing work-based learning modules and programs. Familiarity with VLE software, such as Blackboard, and a positive student feedback record are also required.

You will be responsible for teaching modules on your own or in collaboration with other colleagues. You will also collaborate with colleagues to develop and improve delivery and evaluation systems at both the undergraduate and postgraduate level. As a result, the post requires outstanding communication skills with other members of the teaching, coaching, and administrative teams, as well as strict adherence to quality assurance methods.

In addition, you will play an important role in other operational elements of APEC, including as engaging with businesses and professional bodies, serving as an academic or professional supervisor to students, and participating in open days and outreach activities.
