About the Role
Reporting to the Head of Research Accounts, the Operations Manager will be the key point of contact for academic departments on best practices for post-award management of research and non-research awards. This role ensures that financial management and reporting to sponsors comply with both the University’s and the sponsors’ regulations.
Managing a team of 25, you will oversee the maintenance of research and non-research awards within Oracle Financials. You will also ensure timely and accurate reporting to sponsors, thereby optimizing the University’s cash flow.
About You
We are seeking a dynamic leader with experience managing large, complex teams in a customer-focused environment. Experience with research funding or financial administration in higher education or a similar public sector role is ideal. You will have a formal accounting qualification in financial management and be educated to degree level.

Strong financial understanding, including the ability to interpret policies, regulations, and reporting requirements.
Excellent communication and listening skills, with a confident and professional demeanor.
The ability to interact effectively with a diverse range of stakeholders using tact, judgment, and authority.
Proven leadership and teamwork skills, with high levels of personal effectiveness, including coordination, organisation, and meeting deadlines.
