SMT Manager

Location: Bedfordshire
Salary: £40,000 – £45,000

We are looking for a highly motivated Team Leader/Manager to oversee our SMT lines and machine technicians. This team plays a key role in assembling and delivering complex, high-value electronic products for industries such as Aerospace, Defence, Medical Devices, and Manufacturing.

Skills and Experience:

Previous experience in an Electronics Manufacturing environment, ideally within SMT

Expertise in setting, running, and operating a variety of SMT machines

Solid understanding of electronics manufacturing processes, industry standards, and regulations

Experience working in a high-tech environment

Customer-facing experience, especially in high-paced development settings

Team Leadership/Management:

Lead and manage a team of SMT operators, programmers, and engineers, with additional contractors brought in as needed

Act as the technical lead on specific projects

Allocate resources and forecast resource and capability needs for projects

Contribute to planning, resource forecasting, and setting priorities

Technical Expertise:

Lead and execute activities across the SMT lines to ensure timely, efficient, and specification-compliant product delivery

Supervise and support the operators on the team

Follow and communicate test procedures, processes, and technical documentation effectively
