About Us:
We are one of the world’s leading research centres focused on prion diseases and their connection to neurodegenerative conditions, with a growing emphasis on Alzheimer’s disease (www.prion.ucl.ac.uk). Our multidisciplinary approach integrates structural and molecular biology, genetics, cellular and animal models, therapeutics, and clinical research. With a £30 million joint investment from MRC and UCL, our new state-of-the-art facility in central London will further advance research in protein misfolding and aggregation in neurodegenerative diseases.

Led by Professor John Collinge FRS, our Institute brings together a team of MRC core funded, UCL Core funded, and externally grant-funded clinicians, scientists, researchers, and professional services staff. We currently employ around 90 staff across two locations.

About the Role:
We are looking for a seasoned Operations Manager to oversee the Institute of Prion Diseases. As the senior professional services manager, you will be responsible for managing the Institute’s operational services, which include finance, IT, HR, scientific support services (Biological and Histology Services), Health & Safety, and space management. You will work closely with the Institute Director to ensure the smooth and effective delivery of services that support the Institute’s academic and research activities.

In this role, you will also liaise closely with the Faculty of Brain Sciences Operations Director and UCL Central Professional Services. The successful candidate will be required to undergo an acceptable DBS check.

This position is eligible for a skilled worker certificate of sponsorship or a global talent visa under UK Visas and Immigration legislation, welcoming international applicants who require a visa. This is an open-ended contract with funding through to 31st March 2028.

About You:
The Institute Manager is responsible for managing all operational support services within the Institute. This includes finance, HR, IT, scientific services, and health & safety.
