Job Description and Key Responsibilities

The post holder will contribute to the preparation of financial reports, ensuring their accuracy and completeness, and provide the senior management team with the necessary information to assess the financial performance of the service line.
Additionally, the role involves recommending improvements to working practices within the Finance Division, requiring strong Excel skills and proficiency in Word and PowerPoint.
The post holder will work closely with designated service lines, providing sound financial advice to inform decisions on cost management. They will also focus on continuously improving the finance team’s customer service, ensuring high performance and customer satisfaction.

Education & Professional Qualifications
Essential Criteria:
Finalist or part-qualified through a recognized professional accountancy qualification (CIMA, ACA, CIPFA, ACCA) or equivalent with strong academic performance.
Desirable Criteria:
Full CCAB qualification or degree
First-time passes in professional exams
Attendance at Accounting for Foundation Trusts courses
Experience
Essential Criteria:
Proven experience in management accounting or an equivalent role
Experience in preparing accounts under tight deadlines
Experience presenting and explaining financial information to non-finance managers in an accessible manner
Desirable Criteria:
Extensive management accounting experience in similar organizations
Knowledge of the NHS financial environment
Skills and Aptitude
Essential Criteria:
Advanced analytical skills with the ability to clearly communicate findings
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Proficiency in using systems such as Excel, Access, and Microsoft Word to present accurate financial data
Proven record of improving processes and reporting
Ability to meet tight deadlines consistently
