About the Role
This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working in a fast-paced logistics and compliance environment. You’ll be responsible for ensuring that all shipments—both within the UK and internationally—are processed accurately, efficiently, and in full compliance with export regulations.
From preparing documentation to coordinating collections and supporting urgent aircraft requirements, your work will play a key part in keeping operations running smoothly and meeting customer expectations.
What You’ll Be Doing
Shipping & Documentation
- Prepare and process shipping paperwork for domestic and international orders
Generate customs invoices and export documentation
Create Shipper’s Letters of Instruction (SLI)
Confirm shipments and maintain accurate export logs
Arrange collections with freight forwarders and couriers
Provide shipment details such as weight, dimensions, and delivery instructions
Customs & Export Compliance
- Ensure all exports comply with HMRC and international trade regulations
Manage export licences, EUUs (End User Undertakings), and re-export requirements
Apply correct Customs Procedure Codes (CPCs)
Support export compliance for controlled and military goods
Follow aviation security and regulatory requirements
Systems & Processes
- Update shipment and inventory data in internal systems (e.g. Oracle R12)
Complete required processes for key customers (e.g. aerospace partners)
Maintain shipping reports, export logs, and outstanding dispatch records
Process returns, corrections, and Return to Vendor (RTV) transactions
Inventory & Operational Support
- Support warehouse operations including packing, stores, and goods-in when required
Maintain accurate stock records and support inventory control
Identify and escalate any issues with shipments, documentation, or packaging
Quality & Record Management
- Ensure all documentation meets audit and compliance standards
Maintain organised filing systems (onsite and offsite storage)
Support quality release processes (following training and certification)
AOG (Aircraft on Ground) Support
Respond promptly to urgent AOG requests
Participate in out-of-hours rota (after training period)
Work with teams to prioritise critical shipments
What We’re Looking For
Essential Skills
- Experience with shipping, logistics, or export documentation
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Confident using computer systems and data entry tools
Ability to work in a compliance-driven environment
Desirable Experience
- Warehouse or packing experience
Background in manufacturing or aerospace
Familiarity with export systems and documentation processes
Forklift licence (valid)
Knowledge of Known Consignor requirements
Experience using Oracle R12
