JOBS SUMMARY

 

Position: Embedded C Software Engineer.

Suitable for: Firmware or Software Engineer with experience in RTOS and Embedded C.

Location: Bradford, West Yorkshire.

Salary: £30-50k Depending on experience.

Please keep in mind that sponsorship is only available when a person has worked in the capacity for at least one year.Individuals with 1–3 years remaining on their visa before it expires will be considered for applications.

Our client is seeking an embedded software or firmware engineer with experience in embedded C and RTOS. Two slots are up for grabs.

As a member of an established development team, the Embedded Software Engineer or Firmware Engineer will be in charge of designing, developing, and implementing software / firmware solutions for new products, as well as maintaining existing ones.

Essential Experience/Attributes Required:

  • A minimum of three years of experience as an embedded software engineer or firmware engineer.
  • Embedded C programming
  • RTOS (Preferably Freescale MQX)
  • VCS (SVN, CVS)
  • Serial communication, especially CAN Bus.
  • A range of debugging and development environments
  • Analogue to digital conversion and signal processing
  • Working knowledge of mathematical model software (such as Matlab or Simulink)

Desirable:

  • Freescale Power PC
  • Freescale HCS12
  • CodeWarrior
  • Microchip PIC
  • CAN/CANOpen
  • SAE-J1939
  • Assembly languages
  • C++/C#
  • Automotive product qualification
  • Ideally, a degree level qualification with at least three years of post-qualification industry experience in a relevant discipline. Alternatively, HNC/HND equivalent or higher qualifications with relevant industry experience will be considered.

DSP implementation

  • Responsibilities of an Embedded Software Engineer or Firmware Engineer:
  • You will create clear, well-documented, structured, and dependable code on a variety of CPUs and microcontrollers.
  • Similarly, you will be pleased to assist in all stages of code design and implementation, taking a logical approach.
  • Create new embedded architectures to accommodate our expanding product development goals.
  • Involvement begins with system requirement definition and continues through system verification and testing.
  • Be an important contribution to creating the software architecture and planning for efficiency and reuse.
