Summary

An excellent opportunity to work as part of a team to implement and develop the aviation industry’s safety management system.

Because aviation regulations need an SMS system that is Present, Suitable, Operational, and Effective for the extent of our business, this is a one-of-a-kind opportunity in a rapidly expanding industry.

The function entails developing, maintaining, and administering the organisation’s Safety Management System to assure product safety.

You will be responsible for promoting a safety culture through SMS, hazard analysis, and proactive risk assessments. This will be accomplished by disseminating important knowledge about risk management throughout the organisation and reducing risk to ‘As Low As Reasonably Practical’.

The function will be crucial in showing to the regulator our commitment to the improvements being implemented in the regulation and oversight of SMS. This is an exciting opportunity to be involved at the start of a substantial shift in the way regulation is carried out, and it is expected to expand as the new regulatory process matures.

 

Job Description.

Essential Responsibilities

 

  • Facilitate hazard analysis and risk management to decrease risk to ‘As Low As Reasonably practicable’.
  • Review and plan SMS training and advertising, including content to complement the business’s recurring training.
  • Support for customer and regulatory audits
  • External safety reporting to customers and national aviation authorities.
  • Facilitate safety action groups and the dissemination of safety knowledge.
  • Facilitate an impartial assessment of investigations and promote a just culture.
  • Supporting the establishment, administration, and maintenance of the organization’s safety management system, including regulatory compliance reviews.
  • Management of the Airworthiness Directives Process.
  • Support for external safety audits.

Qualifications/Requirements

  • SMS requirements are well understood.
  • This position requires computer literacy.
  • Working knowledge of regulatory principles, with an emphasis on EASA Part 145.
  • Experience with problem-solving root cause analysis tools.
  • Effective written and oral communication skills, as well as the ability to connect with people at all levels, including senior corporate leaders, regulatory representatives, and customer/operator representatives.
