About the Role
As a Test Technician at GE Aerospace, you will play a key role in diagnosing, testing, and repairing complex electronic systems and subassemblies. You’ll be responsible for fault-finding to component level on failed Line Replaceable Units (LRUs), Lower-Level Replaceable Units (LLRUs), and Printed Circuit Boards (PCBs), ensuring all products are restored to full operational performance.
This position involves working with circuit diagrams, test requirement documents (TRDs), and assembly drawings, while collaborating closely with Engineering and Cell Support teams to resolve technical issues.
Key Responsibilities
- Perform detailed fault-finding and troubleshooting of electronic modules, LRUs, and LLRUs down to component level.
- Support functional and in-circuit testing (ICT) for PCBs and ATP/ESS testing for LRUs.
- Set up and operate test equipment to support diagnostic and repair activities.
- Record and maintain accurate failure data within the FRACAS database.
- Ensure full compliance with company processes, procedures, and quality standards.
- Collaborate with engineering teams to implement corrective actions and continuous improvement.
Qualifications & Requirements
- Education: HNC in Electronics Engineering, City & Guilds in Electronics Servicing, or equivalent qualification.
- Strong ability to diagnose faults independently to component level.
- PC literate, with good knowledge of diagnostic tools and test systems.
- Understanding or working knowledge of high-voltage systems.
- Willingness to work flexible hours or shifts as required.
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills, both written and verbal.
- Self-motivated, proactive, and committed to continuous learning and skill development.
Desired Characteristics
- Previous experience in test or test equipment environments.
- Familiarity with sub-assembly, unit-level, and PCB-level testing procedures.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word and Excel.
- Understanding of Environmental Stress Screening (ESS), including vibration and thermal testing.
- Strong attention to detail and quality mindset.
