About the Role

Brighton and Sussex Medical School (BSMS) is seeking an Assistant Curriculum and Assessment Manager (Phase 1) to support the delivery of the undergraduate medical degree programme during Years 1 and 2.

Based in the Medical Teaching Building on the University of Sussex’s Falmer campus, the postholder will play a key role in ensuring the effective coordination and administration of the medical curriculum and assessments.

You will report to the Curriculum and Assessment Manager and work closely with academic and administrative colleagues across BSMS, the Universities of Sussex and Brighton, and partner NHS Trusts.

About You

You will have a solid educational background and bring excellent organisational, communication, and IT skills to the role. The position requires a high level of personal responsibility, initiative, and attention to detail.

  • Confidence in working independently and collaboratively.

  • Experience in higher education or healthcare administration (desirable).

  • If your Certificate of Sponsorship (CoS) was issued before 4 April 2024, the salary requirement is £31,300, which this post meets at Grade 6.1.
  • If issued after 4 April 2024, the salary requirement is £41,700.
  • In such cases, the successful candidate may use tradeable points to meet the salary threshold.
  • Visa sponsorship eligibility depends on individual circumstances and the final salary offered.
