About the Role

Dowty Propellers, part of GE Aerospace, is expanding and looking for a skilled Buyer to join our growing Supply Chain team. Based at our state-of-the-art propeller manufacturing facility in Brockworth, near Gloucester, this role offers a dynamic environment where you’ll play a key part in ensuring smooth procurement and supplier operations.

As a Buyer, you’ll be responsible for managing supplier relationships, negotiating contracts, and securing the best commercial terms while maintaining high standards of quality and service for internal stakeholders. This is a hybrid position, with three days per week onsite and two days working remotely.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and implement supplier strategies to optimize performance and ensure reliable supply.
• Lead negotiations with suppliers, managing pricing, terms, and conditions to achieve best-in-class outcomes.
• Allocate procurement needs to appropriate suppliers and manage related communications.
• Oversee and resolve supplier claims, including commercial issues and data analysis.
• Support commodity management and continuous improvement across sourcing processes.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to align sourcing decisions with business objectives.
• Apply sound judgment to resolve issues within established policies and procedures.
• Provide guidance and support to internal stakeholders on procurement and sourcing matters.

About You

Required Qualifications:

• Proven experience in sourcing, procurement, or commodity management within an engineering or manufacturing environment.
• Strong negotiation and supplier management skills.
• Analytical mindset with the ability to interpret data and influence decisions.
• Bachelor’s degree (or equivalent experience) in supply chain, business, or a related field.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team.

Additional Information

Security Clearance: Baseline Personnel Security Standard (BPSS) clearance is required and must be maintained.
