oin Our Paediatric Nursing Team

The Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust (RCHT) is committed to providing outstanding care to children, young people, and their families. To maintain the highest standards of paediatric nursing across our services, we are seeking qualified and dedicated paediatric nurses to join our expanding and supportive clinical team.

As part of our children’s services, you will have opportunities to develop your clinical skills, rotate through multiple paediatric areas, and contribute to the delivery of exceptional, child-centred care.

Where You Will Work

Our acute paediatric care area offers a broad and dynamic environment designed to meet the varied needs of children and adolescents:

  • Fistral Ward – 10 beds for medical and surgical patients aged 11–16
  • CLIC Unit – 4 specialist cubicles for young patients with cancer and leukaemia
  • Harlyn Ward – 8 day-case beds
  • Polkerris Ward – 12 beds for mixed medical and surgical admissions
  • Paediatric Assessment Unit – rapid assessment and early management
  • Paediatric High-Dependency Unit (PHDU) – 3 level-2 beds
  • Rotation across these areas may be offered to enhance your skills and experience.

What You Will Do

  • Deliver safe, holistic, family-centred paediatric nursing care
  • Promote meaningful relationships with children, young people, and their families
  • Work closely within a multidisciplinary team to ensure coordinated care
  • Contribute to a culture of compassion, learning, and continuous improvement
