About the Role
We are pleased to offer an opportunity to join our Community CAMHS and Adult Eating Disorders Service in a newly developed medical monitoring role. This position plays a vital part in supporting people with eating disorders by providing essential physical health checks closer to home, within a specialist and compassionate service.
As a Medical Monitoring Phlebotomist, you will deliver high-quality clinical monitoring clinics, including phlebotomy and ECGs, while working alongside an experienced Multidisciplinary Team (MDT). Your contribution will help ensure patients receive timely, safe, and person-centred physical health care as part of their recovery journey.
Key Responsibilities
In this role, you will:
- Carry out venepuncture and 12-lead ECGs in line with Trust policies and clinical standards
- Run planned clinics within community and clinic settings for children, young people, and adults
- Undertake physical health observations such as blood pressure, pulse, height, and weight when required
- Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team to support patients with complex eating disorders
- Recognise and escalate clinical concerns using agreed deterioration and safeguarding pathways
- Deliver care that respects dignity, individuality, and patient choice
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in line with professional and information governance standards

Skills, Experience and Qualifications
Essential
- Trained and competent in phlebotomy and ECG recording
- Experience working in a care or healthcare environment
- Ability to carry out basic physical health observations
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Confidence to work independently and as part of a team
- Good time-management, reliability, and flexibility
Desirable
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in a relevant healthcare discipline
- You will be expected to attend mandatory training and demonstrate a willingness to develop new skills in line with service needs.
Important Information
- This role does not meet the salary threshold for Skilled Worker or Health and Care visa sponsorship
- Applicants will be required to undertake a Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check
- DBS costs will be deducted from salary following appointment
- Staff are encouraged to join the DBS Update Service
