About the Role

The Bartlett School of Architecture is seeking an experienced Lecturer (Teaching) and Manager to lead its 3D Printing (Additive Manufacturing) facility – B-made.

This is a key leadership role, responsible for the strategic direction, operational management, and teaching development of the School’s 3D Printing activities. You will ensure that the facility supports cutting-edge teaching, research, and collaboration across the Bartlett and wider UCL community.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead and manage the day-to-day operations of the 3D Printing facility.
  • Develop and deliver innovative teaching in additive manufacturing and digital fabrication.
  • Support and mentor students, researchers, and staff on project-based learning.
  • Drive collaboration across UCL to enhance digital design and fabrication education.
  • Contribute to the strategic planning and development of the Bartlett’s digital manufacturing capabilities.

About You

You are an experienced educator and practitioner in additive manufacturing, 3D printing, or digital fabrication, with strong leadership and management skills. You demonstrate a commitment to advancing learning and innovation in architectural education.

Essential Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in 3D printing, additive manufacturing, or related digital fabrication technologies.
  • Strong experience in managing facilities, staff, and student projects.
  • A passion for advancing education and research through digital and physical making.
  • Excellent communication and organisational skills.
  • Commitment to enhancing the student experience and fostering cross-disciplinary collaboration.
