Motor Mechanic / Vehicle Technician – Tier 2 Sponsorship Available

Position: Motor Mechanic / Vehicle Technician
Location: 17 Layton Road, Off A47 Uppingham Road, Leicester, LE5 0PU
Pay: From £29,200 per year
Job Types: Full-time, Part-time, Zero hours contract
Schedule: Monday to Friday, Weekend availability

Overview:

We are looking for an experienced Motor Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in both petrol and diesel engine repair and maintenance. You will be responsible for carrying out engine overhauls, including head replacement, timing chain and belt replacement, as well as clutch and gearbox replacement.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conduct visual inspections and perform mechanical and MOT repairs to industry standards.
• Use diagnostic tools to locate and resolve engine issues, including ABS and airbag light problems.
• Identify electrical problems with various testing devices.
• Repair or replace wiring, equipment, or fixtures using hand tools and power tools.
• Perform DPF regeneration using multiple methods.
• Ensure all work is completed accurately and to the highest standards.

Requirements:

• Proven experience as a mechanic, specifically with petrol and diesel engines.
• Knowledge of electrical systems, hand tools, power tools, and diagnostic machines.
• Ability to read and interpret technical diagrams and blueprints.
• Strong troubleshooting skills to identify and resolve mechanical and electrical issues.
• High attention to detail and accuracy in all tasks.

Preferred Qualifications:

• City & Guilds Automotive (or equivalent certification).
• Full Driving Licence.

UK visa sponsorship is available for suitable candidates from both the UK and abroad. Please note that candidates will need to cover the relevant Home Office application fees.
