The Role

As Visa Sponsorship Compliance Senior Specialist, you will play a vital role in ensuring that Coventry University Group meets its UKVI sponsor responsibilities.

Based in Coventry and reporting to the Senior Visa Compliance Manager, you will focus on pre-enrolment compliance, audit readiness, and accurate documentation. You will provide expert immigration advice, support colleagues across the university, and contribute to safeguarding our ability to recruit and support international students.

Key Responsibilities

Ensure pre-enrolment activities are audit-ready and compliant with UKVI sponsor guidance.

Carry out quality checks on key documents, including credibility interviews, CAS assessments, and financial evidence.

Act as a compliance advisor to admissions and other stakeholders, ensuring accurate interpretation of sponsor guidance and immigration rules.

Suggest and implement improvements to compliance processes and documentation.

Maintain expert knowledge of UKVI requirements and provide timely, accurate guidance.

Work collaboratively with Admissions, Registry, and other teams to meet record-keeping and compliance standards for sponsored students.

Promote a culture of accuracy, attention to detail, and compliance excellence across the Group.

About You

We are looking for a detail-focused, proactive professional with experience in compliance, immigration, or the Higher Education sector. You will:

Have a strong understanding of regulatory frameworks and how to apply them in practice.

Be confident in interpreting and advising on immigration and sponsorship guidance.

Possess excellent organisational and problem-solving skills, with the ability to prioritise and meet tight deadlines.

Be comfortable working collaboratively across departments, building strong relationships, and providing specialist advice.
