Job Description

Senior Mental Health Practitioner

Full-time role – 37.5 hours per week

We’re excited to offer a rewarding position for an experienced mental health professional with a focus on children and young people. Join our dedicated Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) team at Alder Hey Children’s NHS Foundation Trust, where you’ll play a key role in delivering high-quality care.

About the Role

As a Senior Mental Health Practitioner, you’ll work within a supportive multidisciplinary team. You’ll manage your own caseload of children and young people, taking responsibility for their care while benefiting from regular supervision and guidance from senior colleagues.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting thorough mental health assessments for referrals to the CAMHS team.
  • Delivering tailored, evidence-based interventions based on each individual’s needs.
  • Offering guidance, advice, and consultation to families, carers, and other professionals involved in a young person’s life.

We’re particularly interested in candidates with significant prior experience working with children and young people. Additional training or expertise in positive behaviour support would be a valuable asset.
