About the Role

We have a rewarding opportunity for a registered nurse to join our Children’s Safeguarding Team at Royal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust. This role is ideal for someone passionate about child protection and improving outcomes for vulnerable children and young people.

As part of the Integrated Safeguarding Team, you’ll provide specialist advice and support across our Trust, with a primary focus on paediatrics and children’s services. You’ll also play an active role in delivering safeguarding supervision and staff education.

You will work closely with statutory and voluntary organisations, helping to uphold children’s rights and ensure their safety through collaborative, multi-agency approaches.

Key Responsibilities

Deliver safeguarding advice and supervision across Trust services, particularly those involving children.

Provide professional input into safeguarding training and education programmes.

Promote safe practice and children’s welfare in line with current legislation and NHS safeguarding policies.

Work in partnership with external agencies to support multi-disciplinary safeguarding efforts.

Contribute to audits, risk assessments, and service improvements related to safeguarding practice.

About You

To succeed in this role, you’ll need:

Experience in safeguarding children within multi-disciplinary or multi-agency environments.

Registration with the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) (check registration).

Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

Passion, enthusiasm, and commitment to improving child protection practices and services.
