About the Role

We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Neonatal Nurse to join our dedicated nursing team. You will deliver high-quality, holistic, family-centred care to infants and their families within our Neonatal Unit (NNU). Working as an integral part of the multidisciplinary team, you will be involved in the planning, delivery, and evaluation of individualised care programmes, promoting a nurturing and safe environment for all.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver family-centred care and build supportive, respectful relationships with babies and their families.
  • Act as an advocate for infants and their families, providing emotional support, clear information, and referrals to appropriate services.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues across all levels of the multidisciplinary team.
  • Plan care from admission through to discharge, coordinating with internal departments and community services as needed.
  • Maintain and develop clinical competencies required to deliver evidence-based, holistic nursing care, including extended role responsibilities following appropriate training.
  • Administer medications safely and competently in accordance with Trust guidelines.
  • Ensure all care provided aligns with current evidence-based practice or recognised peer-reviewed standards.
  • Contribute to the education and support of families, helping them understand their child’s care and progress.
  • Support accurate documentation and patient management by using the Patient Administration System (PAS) in line with Trust policy.
