Senior Research Specialist – Stem Cell Technologies (Fixed-Term)
Location: University of Edinburgh
Contract: Full-time (35 hours/week), fixed-term for 48 months
Salary: Grade UE07 – £40,497 to £48,149 per annum (pro rata for part-time)

About the Opportunity
Are you passionate about advancing treatments for rare diseases through innovative stem cell research? Join us at the University of Edinburgh as a Senior Research Specialist, where you’ll be part of the LifeArc Centre for Rare Respiratory Diseases, helping drive the discovery of new therapies for patients with rare and often untreatable conditions.
This role offers a chance to make meaningful scientific contributions through the application of human stem cell technologies, including maintenance and differentiation protocols. You’ll be working alongside a talented and collaborative team, engaged in pioneering research that has the potential to transform lives.
What You’ll Need to Succeed
- A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Biology, Developmental Biology, Molecular/Cell Biology, or a related field
- Strong hands-on experience in stem cell culture, maintenance, and differentiation
- A detail-oriented approach with excellent organizational skills
- Self-motivated, ambitious, and capable of working independently as well as within a team
