Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced and dedicated individual to join our Endoscopy Unit as a nurse, providing high-quality care for patients undergoing clinical procedures. In this role, you will deliver evidence-based care, assessing, planning, implementing, and evaluating treatment for patients and their families, working independently within your professional scope. You will contribute to developing nursing practice and participate in achieving departmental and Trust objectives as part of an effective multi-disciplinary team.

Additionally, you will play a role in maintaining high standards in accordance with the British Society of Gastroenterology (BSG) and the Global Rating Scale for Endoscopy, ensuring compliance with JAG accreditation.

Main Duties, Tasks, & Skills Required

Assist in delivering effective, evidence-based services to patients within the hospital setting.

Provide patients with necessary information about the department and procedures, answering questions and offering additional advice.

Complete assessments of patient care needs, manage treatment, and evaluate clinical interventions tailored to the Endoscopy Unit.

Follow and contribute to the development of Trust and Unit policies and procedures.

Support the Clinical Endoscopy Manager in meeting Unit and Trust objectives, aligning with JAG Quality standards.

Propose changes to working practices to enhance patient care and discuss these changes with the Clinical Lead before implementation.

Uphold NMC standards, including professional conduct, documentation, and medicines administration.

Actively participate in ward meetings.

Foster positive relationships with all staff involved in patient care to ensure a quality service.

Act as an advocate for patients.
