The Role
Reporting to the Associate Director of the Sponsorship Compliance and Quality Assurance (SCQA) team, you will lead a specialist team responsible for maintaining compliance with UK Visas and Immigration (UKVI) regulations. You will ensure the quality of pre-enrolment processes and help maintain the University’s sponsor licence.
This is a leadership position with a focus on operational excellence, staff performance, and ensuring compliance standards are upheld. The role will involve regular liaison with internal teams and external stakeholders, including preparation for UKVI audits and continuous process improvement.
Key Responsibilities
Manage and develop a team of Sponsorship Compliance Specialists and Assistants
Oversee pre-enrolment quality checks, including:
Reviewing credibility interviews
Validating financial documentation
Monitoring Enroly platform assessments
Prepare for and support UKVI audits across the University Group
Collaborate with Admissions and Enroly to enhance compliance and performance monitoring
Lead process improvements and ensure best practices are embedded
Advise on complex UKVI and immigration-related matters
Ensure all visa advisory content is accurate and up-to-date in line with current UKVI policy
Recruit, train, and onboard new team members as required
About You – What We’re Looking For
Essential Experience:
Strong background in immigration compliance, visa sponsorship, or Higher Education administration
Proven people management and team leadership skills
Experience using multiple systems and databases to manage and analyse compliance data
Excellent attention to detail with a high level of accuracy
Confidence in interpreting regulations and making decisions on complex cases
Strong planning, problem-solving, and communication abilities
A flexible approach with the ability to work across functions and occasionally travel
Desirable:
Familiarity with the Enroly platform or other admissions/compliance systems
Knowledge of UKVI Sponsor Guidance for Student Visa route

Competitive salary: £34,013 – £47,667 per annum (based on experience)
