Position: Facility Manager, SBS Flow Cytometry Core Facility
Grade UE08: £49,250 – £60,321 per annum
Institute of Infection and Immunology Research / School of Biological Sciences / College of Science & Engineering
Full-Time: 35 hours per week
Contract: Open-ended (permanent)
We’re seeking a dynamic Facility Manager to oversee the SBS Flow Cytometry Core Facility at the University of Edinburgh. This full-time role (35 hours/week) is primarily based on-campus within the flow facility, though we’re open to exploring job-share or flexible working arrangements.
The Role:
The SBS Flow Cytometry Facility is a vital hub for research and education, serving a wide-ranging community of biologists. Equipped with cutting-edge tools—conventional and spectral flow cytometers (Fortessa, Aria, Sony ID7000 analysers, plus an Aria and a new BD Discover S8 spectral & imaging sorter)—the facility thrives on innovation. We need a leader to steer this operation, ensuring top-tier experimental design and data quality, supporting equipment and users, and shaping the facility’s future growth and resilience.
