About the Roles

Suffolk County Council is seeking passionate and dedicated Social Workers and Senior Social Workers to join our Children and Young People’s Services. Available Positions and Salaries

  • Social Workers: £37,280 – £40,777 per annum, plus £4,000 annual retention payment (pro rata)
  • Senior Social Workers: £41,502 – £47,054 per annum, plus £3,500 annual retention payment (pro rata)

Current vacancies include:

  • Social and Senior Social Workers in Social Care teams (s.17 and s.47 assessments, Child in Need, Child Protection plans)
  • 2 x Social Worker posts in the Leaving Care (North) team, supporting care leavers aged 16–25
  • 1 x Senior Social Worker (fixed term, 1 year) in the Family Solutions team, providing intensive, trauma-informed, solution-focused support to prevent children entering care

What We’re Looking For

  • A recognised social work qualification and registration with Social Work England
