The School is equipped with state-of-the-art facilities, including molecular biology labs, cell culture suites, imaging facilities, human analysis labs, an electron microscopy unit, and specialized resources for biosensor development.
SOAS has a growing portfolio of health-related programmes and research. Our Biomedical Sciences programmes have a long-standing reputation for excellence. Recently, we successfully launched MSc courses in Health Technology and Applied Transfusion and Transplant Science, in partnership with NHS Blood and Transplant.
We are proud recipients of the Athena SWAN Silver Award, reflecting our commitment to gender equality through initiatives in workload management, flexible working, and career development.
Within the College of Health and Social Wellbeing (CHSW), we also offer a range of allied health courses including nursing, paramedic science, radiography, and the highly successful Independent Prescribing programme.

- Oversee the MPharm programme through the General Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC) accreditation process, currently progressing through Step Two.
- Advance research and grow the School’s pharmacy portfolio, including developing new CPD opportunities aligned with sector needs.
The role is based within SOAS but will operate across the College of Health, Science and Society (CHSS), a large and diverse part of the University with an extensive research portfolio supported by multiple Research Centres. Our research is funded through UK Research Councils, Innovate UK, National Institute for Health Research, local and international industry partners, and the European Commission.

Preferred research areas include:

- Pharmacy education
- Other closely related fields
Experience in academic curriculum design, programme development, and familiarity with GPhC standards is highly desirable. Applicants should ideally be registered pharmacy professionals.

- Leadership and team management experience in academic or professional settings.
- Strong organisational skills and ability to work collaboratively.
- A commitment to staying current with developments in pharmacy and education best practices.

Support is provided through mentorship from experienced professors and access to staff development funds for both personal and subject-specific growth.
