Are you a motivated, compassionate, and experienced registered nurse seeking to take the next step in your leadership career? This is an exciting opportunity to become a Band 6 Sister/Charge Nurse within the Medical Division at Doncaster and Bassetlaw Teaching Hospitals (DBTH), supporting the development of a brand-new team on Ward 17.
We are looking for a dynamic and forward-thinking clinical professional who can lead by example and inspire excellence in nursing care. This junior leadership role combines both clinical and managerial responsibilities and is ideal for someone looking to expand their skills in leadership, service improvement, and education.
What We’re Looking For
- A registered nurse (NMC pin required) with significant experience caring for acutely unwell patients
- Strong interpersonal skills and a commitment to delivering compassionate, dignified care
- Proven ability to lead a team, uphold clinical standards, and drive service improvements
- Interest in developing leadership and educational capabilities in line with DBTH Inter-Professional Standards
You’ll work collaboratively within the division and support the Senior Sister/Charge Nurse in the day-to-day operations of the ward, including mentoring staff, identifying development opportunities, and promoting evidence-based best practices.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide clinical leadership and mentorship to nursing staff
- Support ward management and maintain high standards of patient care
- Identify staff strengths and development areas, implementing tailored training plans
- Promote the use of research and evidence-based practice in daily care
- Collaborate with the wider multidisciplinary team across the division
