About the Team.
The Financial Control and Operational Management team is in charge of financial and treasury management, statutory reporting, tax, grants, payroll and pensions, and financial operations. They are critical to ensuring that all financial administration and processing is carried out in a regulated and efficient manner, as well as providing transparent and concise policies and procedures to support the university’s statutory and regulatory compliance needs.
About the Role
We are currently recruiting an experienced Financial Accountant to join us on a 12-month fixed-term contract.
You will be in charge of all activities relating to the University’s financial accounts, the preparation of statutory returns, and the accounting and reporting of endowments and capital donations. You will also serve as the primary point of contact for any key business developments, providing extensive guidance on technical accounting information to assist with business modelling.
Working closely with the Financial Controller, you will assist with treasury management activities such as forecasting and strategic planning to find new long-term investment possibilities.
You will lead and develop a newly formed financial accounts team. Using your skills and experience, help them improve technical understanding so that they can aid the university with a variety of financial responsibilities, as well as support the Grants Assistant with grant monitoring and reporting.
We are looking for someone who is CCAB qualified, has experience creating consolidated financial statements, and has a proven track record of driving business changes and improvements.
