Place Specialist – Tees Valley Sport
Location: Teesside University (Hybrid working available)

Tees Valley Sport is looking for a skilled, strategic, and collaborative Place Specialist to lead the development and delivery of place-based approaches that promote physical activity across the Tees Valley. This leadership role is ideal for someone who can connect systems, build strong partnerships, and guide work that is informed by local insight and community need.
You will play a key part in supporting Sport England’s Place Expansion investment, working on the You’ve Got This programme in Middlesbrough and Redcar & Cleveland, and contributing to the expansion into Stockton-on-Tees, Hartlepool, and Darlington.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead the design, coordination, and implementation of place-based projects aligned with strategic and local priorities.
- Manage resources, timelines, and evaluation activities to ensure effective investment use and impactful outcomes.
- Act as a trusted partner, building relationships across sectors to strengthen local collaboration.
- Support communities and organisations to co-design and embed sustainable solutions for physical activity.
- Champion whole-system approaches and inclusive, community-centred practices.
- Lead small teams and mentor others to grow local capacity and leadership.
- Contribute to learning and insight sharing across the partnership and with stakeholders such as Sport England.

This role may qualify for sponsorship under the UK Skilled Worker visa route, subject to eligibility and salary thresholds set by UKVI.
