Worcester Business School – Department of Management & Finance

Worcester Business School is thriving, with increasing numbers of students enrolling across both our undergraduate and postgraduate programmes. To support this growth, we are seeking to expand our academic team with a new Lecturer or Senior Lecturer (Teaching) specialising in Business and Human Resource Management (HRM).

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a dynamic department committed to high-quality teaching, student support, and professional engagement. You will play a key role in delivering core Business and HRM modules, shaping future professionals, and contributing to the ongoing development of our teaching programmes in alignment with industry and professional HR standards.

About the Role

As part of our Department of Management & Finance, you will:

  • Deliver high-quality, engaging teaching at undergraduate and postgraduate levels.
  • Supervise student projects and dissertations in the fields of Business and HRM.
  • Contribute to curriculum development and potentially take on course leadership responsibilities.
  • Support our mission to provide a professionally relevant, inclusive, and inspiring learning environment.

We’re particularly keen to hear from candidates with experience in course design, module leadership, and applied teaching approaches that link theory to practice.

What We’re Looking For

  • A relevant academic qualification (e.g. Master’s or PhD) in Business, HRM, or a related field.
  • Up-to-date professional knowledge and practical experience in HRM and Business.
  • Experience in delivering lectures and supporting student learning at higher education level.
  • A commitment to inclusive education and student success.

Experience in course leadership or curriculum development will be considered an advantage.

Why Join Us?

  • Annual pay progression:
  • Lecturer: Up to £41,732, with potential to progress to £45,585
  • Senior Lecturer: Up to £54,395, with potential to progress to £59,422
    (From 1st July 2025, salaries will increase – see below)

Updated Salary from 1 July 2025:

Lecturer: £38,249 – £42,882 (with progression up to £46,735)

Senior Lecturer: £44,128 – £55,755 (with progression up to £60,907)
