JOB SUMMARY

This position is great if you have a strong interest in pain management. You will broaden your existing talents and learn new ones while improving your knowledge. Applicants must be NMC-registered.
Monday to Friday, the service operates from 08:00 to 18:00. You will be expected to work across multiple sites if necessary.
Main responsibilities, tasks, and abilities required
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Registered Staff Nurse to join the Chronic Pain Service. Working in our X-ray unit, you will support our Consultants in Pain Management with pain management treatments while ensuring that patients who visit the unit receive safe and effective care. You will need to wear a lead apron to protect yourself from radiation.
You will also be involved in the admissions and discharge procedures, as well as the day-to-day operations of the unit. You will display great communication skills during our patients’ admission process. Although experience in pain management is not required, it would be beneficial.

Essential
- The NMC registers adult nurses.
- Evidence of competence to revalidate as required by the NMC.
Experience
Essential
- 12-18 months of post-registration experience working in acute secondary NHS care settings.
- Evidence of successes and career progress in the current position, as well as ongoing professional development/competence.
- Experience working both independently and as part of a team in a health care setting, assigning tasks to others and supervising them.
- Willingness to become a practice supervisor or assessor. to or meets the Nursing and Midwifery Council (NMC) criteria for student supervision and assessment.
