JOB SUMMARY

At Hull University Teaching Hospitals, our employees are our most significant resource, and we are dedicated to fostering a happy and healthy workforce that is engaged, energetic, and fulfilled at work.

We are searching for energetic and dedicated nurses to join our renowned Pre Assessment team. It’s an exciting time to join our team; we have several major transformation and improvement projects underway, including the construction of a multi-million dollar, cutting-edge Day Surgery Centre and a major refurbishment of some of our older theatres at Hull Royal Infirmary, delivering a programme of work that will benefit the community for many years to come.

You will be able to enjoy a rewarding career in the NHS, with chances for development, growth, and advancement.

Applicaions from job seekers requiring current Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship to work in the UK are encouraged and will be reviewed alongside all other submissions. You can estimate your chances of receiving a Certificate of Sponsorship for the role by comparing your circumstances to the criteria listed on the gov.uk website.

The Pre Assessment service is critical in a patient’s surgical pathway; the team performs a wide range of surgical procedures. You will aid in assessing patients’ health and well-being across a complex and changing caseload, as well as in delivering care that meets the patient’s needs.

As a Pre Assessment Nurse, you can expect:

• Provide all patient pre-assessments, liaising as needed with other healthcare professionals.

• Providing clinical skills to ensure that all patients in the department receive the highest quality nursing care.

• Evaluate patients’ health and wellbeing across a wide range of specialities.

• Rotation between all surgical wards and the admissions lounge will be an essential element of your job. This will help you retain the clinical skills and competences required to effectively pre-assess patients.

• Be an advocate for patient care, looking for ways to increase the value and effectiveness of care and services offered to fulfil people’s health and wellness requirements.

Who are we looking for?

• Be NMC registered; your pin should have no limits or conditions.

• Nursing experience with surgery

• Prior experience with pre-operative assessments is desirable but not required.

• Excellent communication and time management abilities.

We recognise that investing in the development, support, and care of our employees will enable them to provide excellent care with commitment, compassion, and courage.

The Humber Health Partnership is one of the largest acute and community partnerships in the NHS, seeing well over one million patients each year and managing a budget of more than £1.3 billion.

Our Partnership, which consists of two Trusts – Northern Lincolnshire and Goole NHS Foundation Trust (NLAG) and Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust (HUTH), has high objectives and is dedicated to providing world-class hospital and community services to the 1.65 million people we serve.

We collectively employ roughly 20,000 people. For NLAG, our five primary hospital sites include Diana, Princess of Wales Hospital, Scunthorpe General Hospital, and Goole and District Hospital, whereas HUTH has Hull Royal Infirmary and Castle Hill Hospital.

As Teaching Hospitals affiliated with Hull York Medical School, we lead and contribute to research in a variety of fields, including biomedical research, primary care, palliative medicine, cardiovascular and respiratory medicine, vascular surgery, cancer surgery, and oncology.

We believe that by cultivating a diverse, inclusive, inventive, talented, and caring staff, we will be able to provide excellent care to our patients while also ensuring a bright future for our workers, Partnership, and community.
