About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for two Change Managers to join the Change Practice within the Sussex Projects team. In this role, you will lead change management efforts on a variety of projects and strategic initiatives in a complex and dynamic environment. You will collaborate with other Change Practice and Sussex Projects team members, using the established Change Practice framework to guide the development of plans.
About You
You are an optimistic and solution-focused individual with strong interpersonal and problem-solving skills. You are genuinely curious about people and their perspectives.
As a change management practitioner, you have proven experience in guiding people through change, balancing individual needs with those of teams, departments, and the broader organisation. You have successfully delivered various projects in organisational settings and are eager to continue learning and developing. You thrive in a fast-paced environment, enjoy problem-solving, and are adept at identifying challenges and finding creative solutions.
While experience in a Higher Education environment is beneficial, it is not essential.
About Our Division
Since its inception in 2022, Sussex Projects has undergone a significant transformation. Originally part of IT Services, it is now a standalone division, uniting a community of portfolio, programme, project, and change professionals to centralise the University’s project portfolio management and enhance maturity and delivery performance.
The team has introduced an annual strategic planning process for capital expenditure and implemented new methodologies, processes, systems, reporting, and governance structures. An external 2024 maturity assessment revealed that Sussex Projects now exceeds sector benchmarks for project management.
The Change Practice team was formed in December 2022, with a bespoke change management framework designed to meet the unique needs of Sussex and its projects. Sussex Projects fosters an active, engaged community of practice that promotes continuous improvement, innovation, and shared learning.
