Job Description

We are a 15-bed High Dependency Unit (HDU), primarily caring for burns patients but also providing care for other specialties when needed. We are seeking a dedicated nurse to join our team and contribute to the high standard of care we deliver.

Person Specification

Qualifications:

Essential:

Professional and clinical knowledge, typically acquired through training to degree/diploma level, leading to professional registration with the NMC (Adult, Child, Learning Disability, or Mental Health)

For newly qualified nurses, evidence of undergraduate education; for post-registration nurses, evidence of continuing professional development.

Experience:

Essential:

Previous experience or recent work in an acute secondary health and care setting, including undergraduate placements within the last 12 months.

Willingness to become a practice supervisor/assessor or meet NMC standards for student supervision and assessment.

A solid understanding of the NMC code of conduct and the proficiencies and standards required for registered nurses, including application in both undergraduate and post-graduate practice.

Ability to work as an accountable professional in promoting health, preventing ill health, assessing needs, planning care, and evaluating outcomes.

Experience in managing care, prioritizing and delegating tasks, coordinating care, and responding to deteriorating health conditions.

Knowledge of current clinical and professional issues, including NHS policy, safeguarding, and mental capacity.

Awareness of health and safety regulations.

Desirable:

Experience in an Acute NHS practice setting as an undergraduate student nurse or post-graduate registered nurse.

Flexibility to work varied shift patterns, including nights, weekends, and unsocial hours when required.
