About the Business Unit

Our transport solutions team helps design, implement, and manage infrastructure projects across the globe. We work with cities, regions, and asset owners/operators from the business case stage to project delivery and ongoing maintenance. Our expertise spans planning, engineering, environmental management, and more, covering the full project lifecycle. Our team is integral in delivering the Global Transport Sector Strategy.

Role Overview

Due to our continued growth, we are seeking a Systems Engineer / Safety Engineer to join our dynamic and supportive Systems Engineering and Assurance team. You will focus on delivering systems engineering and safety assurance solutions to a variety of infrastructure, energy, and technology projects.

Engineering Safety Management

As a Systems / Safety Engineer, you will work alongside experienced professionals in multi-disciplinary teams, gaining hands-on experience with industry-standard toolsets on a variety of challenging projects. In addition to project delivery, you will also support bids and proposals and be involved in the Early Careers Professionals (ECP) network.

We are working on numerous UK rail projects, including level crossing removals, station upgrades, and major national infrastructure developments. Additionally, we support international projects in countries like Australia, Canada, and the United States. As infrastructure projects grow in complexity, we are expanding our services into sectors such as transportation, energy, and power, and we welcome applications from professionals in these industries.

Essential Qualifications and Skills

We seek adaptable, self-motivated individuals who excel in both independent and team-based work. Strong communication skills are key to building relationships with colleagues and external clients, both in writing and verbally. You should also possess excellent attention to detail and a methodical approach to problem-solving.

Required Experience:

A degree in an engineering, mathematical, or science-based subject

Understanding of Systems Engineering and/or Safety Engineering, the V-Model, and associated processes/lifecycles

Experience in one or more key service areas provided by our team

Additionally, you should be a member of a relevant professional institution (e.g., IET, IMechE, INCOSE) and be working towards professional registration as a Chartered Engineer.
