About the scheme
You will engage in a three-year graduate study through our Institution of Civil Engineers Approved Training study. You will receive dedicated support as you work towards an Engineering Council-approved professional certification with the Institution of Civil Engineers (ICE). This role requires a working knowledge of other disciplines such as process, mechanical, electrical, construction, and network modelling, so you will have the opportunity to complete placements in these areas to expand your knowledge and expertise while learning from some of the best in the business.

What shall I do?
- Increasing your understanding of civil, hydraulic, geotechnical, and structural design, including the creation of site layouts, foundation solutions, pipelines, and structural arrangements for water, wastewater, and bio-resource treatments.
- Gaining expertise in data collection and analysis for engineering design, as well as expanding your knowledge of health and safety practices and the regulatory environment – both of which are critical to us.
- Improving communication skills with both technical and non-technical audiences, as well as writing clear, succinct, and precise engineering design specifications with measurable outcomes.
- Our capital projects include all parts of the water sector, and as a civil engineer, you will gain experience and skill in all areas, from regulation to project development, conceptual design, and construction.
What do I need to succeed?
- Candidates must have a minimum 2:1 Accredited Bachelor’s Degree classification in Civil Engineering or similar.
- Technically adept with good planning, organising, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong writing and interpersonal skills.
- A great communicator at all levels.
- A great team player.
- Eventually obtain a full UK driving licence, but we will contribute up to £500 towards driving courses to assist you get on the road.
Additional Information
Our recruitment procedure asks you to complete the following:
- A numerical and verbal reasoning test.
- A one-way video interview.
- An evaluation centre will be place between November 27th and December 6th, 2024.
