Wholesale lending at Barclays.

Wholesale Lending is Barclays’ relationship lending centre of expertise within the Corporate and Investment Bank. Responsible for product management, creation, structuring, and implementing specialised loan solutions, as well as portfolio management for the CIB client base.

Who are we looking for?

To be eligible for this program, you must be in your penultimate year of any discipline.

We’re searching for someone who can work well both in groups and on their own. Ideally, you will be commercially and client-aware. You will be able to comprehend financial facts and make informed recommendations.

The purpose of the function

Participate in the day-to-day operations of the wholesale lending business, giving insights and experience that assist more senior colleagues in making informed decisions, developing new products and services, and identifying new market opportunities.

Accountabilities

  • Execution of small research projects, research to support strategic decision making, preparation of presentations and reports to communicate research findings, collaboration with senior management to implement research findings for wholesale lending, and client partnerships in international corporate banking and investment banking.
  • Collaboration with cross-functional teams to advance corporate objectives.
  • Participation in training and development programs designed to improve skills and knowledge.
  • Identifying possibilities, developing business cases, and managing the rollout and launch of new wholesale lending products and services.
  • Management of the creation and implementation of financial models and techniques to aid decision making in wholesale lending.
  • Training and mentoring for junior coworkers.
