Based in the UK, Safran Seats specializes in First and Business Class seating for wide-body aircraft, with teams based in Cwmbran and Newport, Wales, and Brackley, England.
The Role: Project Engineer
As a Project Engineer, you will play a key role in providing technical support, collaborating on work packages, and managing projects across a variety of engineering initiatives. You’ll be an essential part of our GB Engineering Project Management Office, contributing to projects at various stages including Early Engagement, Delivery, Test and Prototyping, and Sustaining Production.
Key Responsibilities:
Understand and balance time, cost, and quality throughout the product development and/or R&T lifecycle.
Lead and develop Project Governance, Methods, and Tools to meet contractual and customer requirements.
Collaborate with stakeholders from various engineering and non-engineering disciplines to ensure project success.
Manage changes and evolving requirements in product development.
Utilize project management tools to keep the team updated on progress and highlight any support needed.
Analyze and prioritize data and actions based on business needs.
Contribute to commercial negotiations, contract discussions, and funding arrangements.
Support product engineering in transitioning technology to the manufacturing process.
Perform peer reviews of data, analysis, and reports.
Ensure all product developments comply with aircraft certification standards.

Job Requirements:
Experience in product development, production engineering, or R&D in an engineering field.
Project management experience with a solid understanding of project management methods and tools.
Ability to influence project outcomes through planning and decision-making.
Strong interpersonal skills for effective communication across departments and with customers.
NVQ Level 4 or HNC in an engineering discipline (essential).
Experience in the design of software, electrical systems, composites, or additive manufacturing is preferred.
Hands-on experience in product/process/materials development.
Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project, Access).
Full UK driving license and passport, as travel may be required (approx. 10% of the role).
