We’re looking for a skilled and experienced Electrical Services Officer to join our Estates Maintenance team at the University of Warwick. In this pivotal role, you’ll help ensure the safety, compliance, and reliability of our electrical systems across campus — from fixed wiring and appliances to installations and inspections.

What You’ll Be Doing
As our Electrical Services Testing Officer, you’ll act as the NICEIC Qualified Supervisor, overseeing all electrical testing activities carried out by both in-house staff and external contractors. You’ll take the lead on quality assurance, ensuring work is completed to the highest standards and in line with statutory requirements.
Key responsibilities include:
- Managing day-to-day electrical testing and inspection services
- Supervising a skilled team of electricians
- Ensuring compliance with relevant regulations and university policies
- Working collaboratively with departments to meet agreed service levels
- Keeping clear records and reports for audits and inspections
What We’re Looking For
We’re seeking a qualified electrician with substantial experience in electrical inspection and testing, particularly in a supervisory or quality assurance capacity. You’ll be comfortable managing people and processes, and thrive in a role that requires both hands-on problem-solving and administrative oversight.
You should have:
- A recognised electrical qualification (e.g. City & Guilds 2391 or equivalent)
- Proven experience in managing electrical testing and inspections
- Strong leadership and team coordination skills
- A proactive, safety-first mindset
- Excellent communication and organisational abilities
