About the Role
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Specialist Safeguarding Nurse for Children to join Sutton Council’s Safeguarding Health Team. This part-time, permanent role is pivotal in supporting safeguarding practices across children’s services in the borough.
You will work closely with the Named Nurse, a team of Specialist Safeguarding Nurses, and key partners including:
- London Borough of Sutton
- Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust
- Sutton Integrated Care Board (ICB)
Your role will focus on:
- Promoting best practice and effective communication across health and care partners.
- Supporting safeguarding policies and frameworks to protect and promote the welfare of children.
- Providing expert advice, supervision, and training to colleagues involved in safeguarding work.
About You
You will be a qualified nurse with significant safeguarding experience, ideally within child health services. You will have:
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding procedures and inter-agency working.
- Excellent communication skills and confidence to provide professional advice and guidance.
- A proactive, supportive approach to multidisciplinary teamwork and training.

Sutton Health and Care (SHC) is a collaborative alliance involving Sutton Council, Epsom and St Helier NHS Trust, the Sutton GP Federation, and South West London & St George’s Mental Health Trust. Together, we are committed to delivering integrated services across health and social care.
The Safeguarding Children Team ensures effective early identification, referral, and support for children and young people at risk. Our focus includes improving:
