Your Key Responsibilities
In this dynamic and rewarding position, you will:
- Provide strong clinical leadership and act as a key decision-maker during out-of-hours periods.
- Offer guidance, mentorship, and clinical support to both nursing staff and junior doctors across the site.
- Serve as a clinical role model and expert practitioner, setting high standards of care and professionalism.
- Respond promptly to emergency situations, including cardiac arrests, acute deterioration, and critical incidents.
- Ensure patients receive timely and effective clinical assessment and treatment.
- Develop and apply advanced assessment skills to support rapid diagnosis and intervention.
Undertake essential procedures such as:
- Cannulation
- Venepuncture
- Arterial blood gas (ABG) sampling
- Catheterisation
- 12-lead ECG interpretation
- Use Nervecentre and clinical judgement to safely prioritise caseloads and manage workflow.
- Support clinical audits, participate in service improvement projects, and contribute to ongoing learning.
