About the Role
Following a recent service reshaping, we are seeking passionate Social Workers to join our team in Kendal—often called the gateway to the Lakes. Kendal is a vibrant town with excellent transport links and a strong sense of community.
This is an opportunity to make a genuine difference in people’s lives every day. Within our Adult Social Care teams, you’ll work alongside dedicated colleagues focused on achieving positive outcomes for those we support.
We have introduced a career grade pathway for Social Workers holding qualifications such as Best Interests Assessor, Practice Educator, or AMHP. We also provide regular training to help you progress throughout your career with Westmorland and Furness Council.
Who We’re Looking For
We are looking for a committed and skilled Social Worker with:
- A recognised Social Work degree and registration with Social Work England.
- Experience in independent assessment and support planning.
- Strong knowledge of current legislation, practice models, and approaches.
- Confidence in managing risk, making sound decisions in unpredictable situations, and supporting team planning and resource allocation.
- Excellent communication and collaboration skills.
- The ability to design person-centred, innovative interventions that empower individuals.
