Role Overview
University Hospitals Sussex NHS Foundation Trust is recruiting a Transformation Support Manager to support the development and delivery of improvement programmes within the Internal Medicine Strategic Network (IMSN), funded by NHS England.
This post is part of a newly forming, multidisciplinary team working at a critical early stage of system transformation. You will help shape how the Strategic Network operates, supporting Cardiac, Renal, and Vascular Operational Delivery Networks (ODNs) to translate national priorities into sustainable, locally delivered improvements.
This role is well suited to an experienced improvement or transformation professional who thrives in complex healthcare environments and is motivated by measurable impact, collaboration, and innovation.
Key Responsibilities
Transformation & Improvement Delivery
- Support the design, coordination, and delivery of transformation and service improvement projects across Cardiac, Renal, and Vascular pathways.
- Apply recognised quality improvement and project management methodologies to ensure projects are structured, evidence-based, and outcomes-focused.
- Translate strategic objectives into clear project plans, milestones, and deliverables.
Programme & Governance Support
- Ensure projects are appropriately governed, documented, and aligned with national and regional requirements.
- Support the development of business cases, benefits realisation plans, and evaluation frameworks.
- Monitor progress, risks, and dependencies, escalating issues where appropriate.
Stakeholder Engagement & Collaboration
- Work in close partnership with ODN Managers, clinical leaders, and operational colleagues across multiple organisations.
- Facilitate productive engagement with clinicians, managers, patients, and external partners.
- Support collaborative working across systems to deliver consistent, high-quality care pathways.
Capability Building & Change Support
- Provide training, coaching, and practical support to teams delivering improvement projects.
- Contribute to the development of improvement capability within the Strategic Network.
- Support change management activity, ensuring new ways of working are embedded and sustained.

Education & Professional Development
Essential
- Master’s level education or equivalent experience in a role with a strong focus on quality improvement or transformation
- Qualification or substantial experience in service improvement methodologies
- Evidence of ongoing continuing professional development
- Project management training or equivalent experience

- Facilitation or improvement coaching training
Experience

- Proven experience delivering projects from planning through to implementation and evaluation
- Experience engaging a wide range of stakeholders, including clinical and non-clinical staff
- Experience analysing qualitative and quantitative data to inform decisions and recommendations
- Experience training, coaching, or supporting teams through change
- Familiarity with national healthcare standards and guidance
